Ever wonder exactly what it takes to survive a Slashdotting? So have the rest of us, since many a site has died while trying… Thankfully, there’s finally someone who let’s us know exactly how to do it, using none other than WordPress (uhh, yes, that is what you’re reading this on…).
I’m somewhat skeptical because the author says he was running on a DSL line and that his server died. I would expect a Slashdotted site to be bandwidth deprived more than horsepower stressed. Perhaps he has one of those uber connections instead of your average everyday pathetic little connection like the rest of us…

Speed Demonnnn…
Through some comments on this Download Squad post, I found this speed test for various browsers on Windows, Linux and Mac.
Looks like Opera is ahead of the competition in virtually everything (one version or another) no matter which OS you’re using. I’d switch from Firefox, but that’d mean I had to use… Opera… Ewwwww!
It’s a good read none-the-less, minus the horribly inaccurate Firefox MOOX part (read the comments on the Download Squad post for details and suspected reasons).
