From the Oh-My-God-I-Can’t-Believe-I-Voted-For-Him Department

Welp, I got a WordPress.com invite in my email a little while ago (which I have a feeling was thanks to craig), so of course I jumped on the chance to log in and play around!

One of the cool features is the new Dashboard, which includes a couple variations on the “Hot Blogs Today” list on WordPress.com, including a list of top posts recently. Thanks to it, I found an absolutely wonderful post on SushiGirl’s Other Blog entitled “Moral Question”. Allow me to quote:

This test only has one question, but it’s a very important one. By
giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally. The
test features an unlikely, fictional situation in which you will have to
make a decision.

Remember that your answer needs to be honest, and spontaneous. Please
scroll down slowly and give due consideration to each line.

THE SITUATION

You are in New Orleans, There is chaos all around you caused by a
hurricane with severe flooding. You are photo journalist working for a
major newspaper, and you’re caught in the middle of this epic disaster.

You’re trying to shoot career-making photos. There are houses and people
swirling around you, and disappearing under the water.

===============================================

THE TEST

Suddenly you see a man in the water. He is fighting for his life, trying
not to be taken down with the debris. You move closer. Somehow the man
looks familiar. You suddenly realize who it is. It’s the President,
George W. Bush.

At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take him
under forever. You have two options- you can save the life of the
President, or you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo,
documenting the death of one of the world’s most famous men.

===============================================

THE QUESTION

Here’s the question, and please give an honest answer…….

Would you select high contrast color film, or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?

I played along and slowly scrolled down the page, reading line-by-line… When I got to the end, I was definitely expecting something moving and sincere… Imagine how hilarious I found it when I realized I was mistaken.

Now, I don’t want to turn this into a political debate, but I honestly can’t believe I fucking voted for Bush. What was I thinking? Someone, please tell me that he wasn’t this bad before the last election. I don’t know if I’ll be able to sleep at night if I simply couldn’t see through him…

Welp, good reading over on the WordPress.com blogs. I highly recommend that you skip on over and check them out. I’m sure I’ll be mentioning them some more in the future as I get settled in.

Nuh, uh, wasn’t me. I’m guessing the invite system beat me to it, that now Matt has his new servers and enough power for them he’s upped the anti with releasing invites. I think he got sick of people asking for them on his blog…

I’m seeing a lot more new blogs.

  2. Chris Meller says:

Yeah, after I posted that, I saw where you were giving away your WP.com invite… Must have been the random blogging goodness granting invites in my favor.

  3. masteroggy says:

Nah, it’s not just you. He was better before =P
I got that chain email a while ago, is indeed quite amusing!

  4. Chris Meller says:

See, why can’t people at work forward me shit like this?! I don’t give a fuck about the “Ohhh, isn’t this the cutest thing you’ve ever read?!” ones.

Oh, that’s right… because they’re all still under the spell of stupidity and think Bush is the greatest thing since anal sex…
