I was checking Feedlounge for the last time before bed, when I saw this come up in the Microsoft Knowledge Base feeds I have subscribed:

A domain controller that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 may stop responding for 2 to 15 minutes several times a day

You write the funny punchline, because I just don’t know where to start…

    I think that the punchline is the workaround, itself. “Just disable all of the services associated with the domain controller, and then you won’t even notice it”:

    Method 1: Restart the DFS service Method 2: Stop Internet Connection Firewall, Internet Connection Sharing, and Routing and Remote Access Method 3: Disable the IP NAT driver Method 4: Disable NAT/Basic Firewall Method 5: Disable the H.323/LDAP proxy

    I didn’t actually read the article until you mentioned their workarounds (I originally subscribed to these to keep informed, then got overwhelmed with the number of articles they publish and gave up trying to actually read them).
